Civil Service Exam Schedule – UPSC Exam Calendar 2021

The IAS exam 2021 as usual will be held in three phases. The entrance exam for the IAS is called the Civil Service Preliminary Exams. This is only the qualifying exam for writing the mains exam. It comprises of two papers with multiple choice questions each for two hours. Once you have cleared the Prelims exam you are eligible to appear in the Mains written exams. Once you have cleared the mains exam you will be illegible to face the personality test (interview)

About 2021 Prelims

The civil services preliminary examination is scheduled to be held on 31st May 2020. The notification will be issued on 12th February. The last date for receipt of applications would be 3rd March 2020. Candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria before going to apply. One of the primary criteria is that candidates must have Bachelor degree in any discipline from a recognized university. Candidates appearing in the final year exams can also apply.

UPSC Exam Timing

Prelims exam time

Upsc preliminary examination has two papers. Usually the Morning session is General studies and Afternoon session is CSAT. For morning session the timing is from 9.30am – 11.30am. For afternoon session the timing is from 2.30pm – 4.30pm.

Mains exam time

In the Mains exam papers in the Morning session is from 9.00 A.M. to 12.00 and Afternoon session is from 2pm – 5pm.
